Robert Lipartito Art Exhibit


Mount Laurel, June 19, 2012: 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 

Mount Laurel Library will be hosting a display of Robert Lipartito's art from Sunday, July 1, through Friday, August 31, 2012. The display is free and open to the public.

Robert Lipartito has studied art in Philadelphia at the Fleisher Art Memorial and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (Continuing Education Division). Mr. Lipartito works in a variety of 2D media including oils, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, etching, and lithography. 

His work has been shown at the Reading (PA) Public Museum, The GoggleWorks Center for the Arts (Reading), the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the Da Vinci Art Alliance (Philadelphia), the Perkins Center for the Arts (Moorestown), the Center for the Arts in Southern New Jersey (Marlton), Hopkins House Gallery (Haddon Township), and the offices of the Philadelphia Foundation. He has given solo exhibitions of his lithographs at the Fleisher Art Memorial and at the Collingswood, NJ 2nd Saturday Arts Night.

Music of Versailles – a lecture

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 

Catherine Sprague will be at Mount Laurel Library on Sunday, July 8 at 2 p.m. to present a history of the Palace of Versailles and the music composed and performed there. The lecture will cover music created from approximately 1623 through the French Revolution. No registration is needed.

Originally begun in 1623 as a hunting lodge by Louis XIII, Versailles soon evolved into the prestigious palace of the “Sun King” that was widely imitated throughout Europe. Entertainment and music were closely intertwined with life at Versailles, with more than 150 musicians attached to the King’s service. The lecture will be enhanced by video and audio clips of the music and art of the era.

Sonoma Sound at Laurel Acres Park

Thanks to a generous grant from Wegmans, Sonoma Sound will perform at Laurel Acres Park in Mount Laurel on Friday, July 13 from 6-7:30 p.m to kick off the Mount Laurel Township Summer Concert Series.  This concert is free and open to the public.  It is provided by Mount Laurel Township in partnership with Mount Laurel Library.

Sonoma Sound is a sonic tapestry of original roots music with threads of Americana, Blues, Folk, Jazz, Latin and Reggae rhythms that blur the lines of musical category.  More information about the band can be found at http://www.reverbnation.com/sonomasound

Laurel Acres Park is located at 1045 South Church Street.  In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Mount Laurel Community Center (100 Mount Laurel Road.) 

Ballroom Dancing Lessons

Free ballroom dancing lessons will be offered at Mount Laurel Library on Thursday nights from 7-8 p.m. from July 12 to August 16 (no class on July 26) .  Diane Alcavich from Dances By Diane will be instructing beginners in the basic techniques of several classic dances including 
July 12 - waltz
July 19 - fox trot
no class July 26
August 2 - cha-cha 
August 9 - jitterbug
August 16 - nightclub two step.   

No partner or experience needed!  This program is open to the public and no registration is required.  Simply stop by the library and learn how to dance the night away!  

Since different steps will be taught each week, there is no need to commit to attending all of the sessions.  Just drop in when you can.
