Lenape High School National Art Honor Society Art Exhibit

Mount Laurel, February 27, 2012:

Mount Laurel Library will be hosting the Lenape High School National Art Honor Society Art Show from Wednesday, March 7, 2012 through Wednesday, March 28, 2012. This show features the artwork of the Lenape High School National Art Honor Society.

A “Meet the Artists” reception will be held on Wednesday, March 14 at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The display and the reception are open to the public. No registration is needed.

All artwork is for sale. Interested individuals can contact Rebecca Rector via Lenape High School at 609-654-5111 Ext. 8758.

Artists include: Sophie Cyzewski, Alyssa Dellaria, Allyson Gallagher, Jennifer Macquade, Stacey Otake, Katelynn Rahmann, Allison Smith, Peter Stefanowicz, Abby Williams, Heeyoon Won, Niara Wright, and Lamei Zhang.

A Walk to Beautiful: Film & Discussion

Mount Laurel, February 27, 2012:

Mount Laurel Library will show the award winning feature-length documentary A Walk to Beautiful on Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m. followed by a discussion led by Jeffrey M Smith, MD, MPH. The public is invited to this admission-free event. No registration is required.

A Walk to Beautiful tells the stories of five Ethiopian women who suffer from devastating childbirth injuries and embark on a journey to reclaim their lost dignity. Rejected by their husbands and ostracized by their communities, these women are left to spend the rest of their lives in loneliness and shame. They make the choice to take the long and arduous journey to the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in search of a cure and a new life.

Join us for the film with an introduction and a Q&A provided by Jeffrey M Smith, MD, MPH, an expert on the subject of care for women in pregnancy in third world countries.

Joseph Debold: art exhibit Mar 1-31

Mount Laurel Library will be hosting a photography and drawing exhibit by local artist Joseph Debold from Thursday, March 1, 2012 – Saturday, March 31, 2012. A “Meet the Artist” reception will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Joseph Debold began drawing as soon as he could hold a pencil. Over the years, he has enjoyed capturing images of animals, especially big cats, and creating portraits of celebrities. With his move to Mount Laurel in 2007, Joe discovered the diversity of birds in and around New Jersey and has taken up the challenge of capturing them through photography and drawing. Health Care Reform

SaRon Crenshaw to Play Blues - Sun Feb 12

Come enjoy a FREE blues concert with SaRon Crenshaw and his band on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Mount Laurel Library. This concert is open to the public. No registration needed.

SaRon Crenshaw learned to play guitar at the age of ten and travels the country playing jazz and rhythm and blues. He has shared stages with talented recording artists such as Lee Fields, Roy Roberts, Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush, Jessie James, Tyrone Davis, and Chuck Roberson. SaRon plays a Gibson “Lucille” model guitar signed by B.B.King himself and is a regular at Terra Blues in NYC.
