Acapella Concert with Jersey Transit

Come enjoy a FREE acapella concert with Jersey Transit on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Mount Laurel Library. This concert is open to the public. No registration needed.

Performing almost completely without instruments (occasionally one performer tries to sneak in a French horn), Jersey Transit sings a repertoire of songs taken from jazz standards to reggae to R&B to today’s pop. Come see why they have been around for over 20 years!

This concert is part of the Second Sunday Concert series offered at the Mount Laurel Library thanks to a generous gift from Wegmans. (This concert is held on the third Sunday to avoid conflicting with Mother’s day.) All are welcome to attend.

SaRon Crenshaw to Play Blues Concert

Come enjoy a FREE blues concert with SaRon Crenshaw and his band on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Mount Laurel Library. This concert is open to the public. Celebrate Black History Month with this musical treat! No registration needed.

SaRon Crenshaw learned to play guitar at the age of ten and travels the country playing jazz and rhythm and blues. He has shared stages with talented recording artists such as Lee Fields, Roy Roberts, Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush, Jessie James, Tyrone Davis, and Chuck Roberson. SaRon plays a Gibson “Lucille” model guitar signed by B.B.King himself and is a regular at Terra Blues in NYC.

Concert: Brian Betz Quartet featuring Denis DiBlasio

Thanks to a generous grant from Wegmans, the library is offering a FREE afternoon of jazz with the Brian Betz Quartet featuring Denis DiBlasio on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2PM.   This concert is open to the public.  No registration needed.

Brian Betz is a guitarist, composer and educator who resides in the Philadelphia Area. He was a two time winner (2004 and 2007) of the Betty Carter International Jazz Competition and a runner up for the 2006 Henry Mancini Jazz competition.

Baritone saxophonist Denis DiBlasio directs the jazz program at Rowan University. With nine recordings of his own along with published texts, arrangements, and compositions, DiBlasio is known throughout the world.  The quartet will feature guitar, sax, drums and bass.

John Clark’s Little Big Band

   

Thanks to a generous grant from Wegmans, John Clark’s Little Big Band will perform the swinging jazz sounds of the world’s most popular standards as well as beloved Big Band songs at Mount Laurel Library on Sunday, October 14 at 2 p.m.  This concert is free and open to the public.  No registration is needed.   

Musicians in this 7 piece band have worked and toured with some of the greatest talent in the world including: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, The Four Freshmen and many, many others. They are joined by the talented vocalist, Paula Johns.

The Mount Laurel Library has a concert every month on the second Sunday of the month.  In November Tom Doyle and Sandy Cory will perform a Les Paul and Mary Ford tribute on Sunday, November 11 at 2 p.m.

Russian Romantic Flute and Piano Recital

Come enjoy a recital of Russian Romantic music with flutist Inna Gilmore and pianist Elizaveta Kopelman on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Mount Laurel Library. The two will perform pieces by Rachmaninov, Valisenko and Lyadov. This concert is open to the public. No registration needed.

Inna Gilmore, who graduated with honors from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, has won international performance competitions in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Boston and New York City and made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2008.

Elizaveta Kopelman was born in Moscow and won the prestigious Young Concert Artist Trust Competition in London in 1995. Since then she has appeared as a soloist throughout the UK, Europe, USA, South America and the Middle East and has performed with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, London Chamber Orchestra and New York Chamber Symphony.
